Premier League club Chelsea is set to have striker Diego Costa available for this weekend’s top-of-the-table clash against Swansea City despite the Spaniard going off injured in the against France last Thursday.

Costa was replaced in the Spain squad by Barcelona youngster Munir ahead of the Euro 2016 qualifier against Macedonia, after it was feared he had suffered a recurrence of a hamstring injury at the Stade de France.

But further scans in London showed Costa’s latest setback is not as serious as initially feared and puts him in contention to appear in Swansea’s visit of Stamford Bridge this Saturday and the opening UEFA Champions League group match against Schalke 04.

The 25-year old has made an instant impact in the Premier League, scoring four goals in three matches including the first and last in Chelsea’s 6-3 win at Everton; a match he was a doubt to play.
