Emmanuel Emenike has been left out of Nigeria’s starting line-up up for the Cup of African qualifying match against Congo, having arrived late to the Calabar camp of the Super Eagles.
The Fenerbahçe striker is however named among the substitutes, with coach Stephen Keshi picking Obinna Nwofor to head a three-man attack today.
Also missing from the Nigerian team is midfielder Joel Obi, who was dropped from the matchday squad altogether.
Nigeria’s starting line-up today is as follows: Austin Ejide. Efe Ambrose, Kenneth Omeruo, Godfrey Oboabona, Elderson Echiejile. Ogenyi Onazi, John Mikel Obi, Ramon Azeez. Ahmed Musa, Oduamadi, Obinna Nwofor.
The match kicks off at 5p.m. with both sides looking to catch up with South Africa, which kicked off its qualifying campaign in Group A with a 3-0 win at Sudan on Friday.
