Also missing from the Nigerian team is midfielder Joel Obi, who was dropped from the matchday squad altogether.

Nigeria’s starting line-up today is as follows: Austin Ejide. Efe Ambrose, Kenneth Omeruo, Godfrey Oboabona, Elderson Echiejile. Ogenyi Onazi, John Mikel Obi, Ramon Azeez. Ahmed Musa, Oduamadi, Obinna Nwofor.

The match kicks off at 5p.m. with both sides looking to catch up with South Africa, which kicked off its qualifying campaign in Group A with a 3-0 win at Sudan on Friday.
