Nigeria now 9th on medals table, Australia extends lead

Australia have extended their leadership on the medals table at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, winning 26 gold, 2 silver and 26 bronze, making a total medal haul of 73.

England sit  pretty at the second position, with a total medal haul of 57, made up of 23 gold, 17 silver and 17 bronze.

The host, Scotland are third with 30 medals, 11 of which are gold.  Canada are fourth wih seven gold medals, 8 silver and 11 bronze, a total of 18.

Nigeria improved on their 11th position Saturday and are  now 9th, with two gold medals, 3 silver and a bronze.
