Abuja – Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, on Sunday in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, warned members of the public not to associate with any Facebook account bearing his name, a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Uche Anichukwu said.

The statement noted that any Facebook account bearing Ekweremadu’s name was created by impostors.

“The attention of the Office of the Deputy President of the Senate has been drawn to the activities of impostors who open Facebook accounts in the name of the deputy senate president.

“Ekweremadu has no Facebook account and anyone dealing with or communicating with anyone who claims to be the Deputy President of the Senate on any matter is certainly doing so at his or her or risk.

“The person is obviously dealing with fraudsters whose intent is to engage in shady deals and defraud unsuspecting members of the public,” it said.

The statement, therefore, warned members of the public not to have anything to do with any of such Facebook accounts.

It said the accounts “absolutely has nothing to do with Ekweremadu or the Office of the Deputy Senate President.”
