Lagos – The Police said in Lagos on Thursday that it has commenced investigation into Wednesday night’s explosion in Apapa area of the state.

The Spokesperson of the police command, DSP Ngozi Braide, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the anti-bomb squad was currently checking the scene with a view to ascertain what actually exploded.

“The experts are already investigating the case, but they have not submitted their report and until that is done, I cannot say anything categorical on the explosion.

“When they are done with their investigation, I would make public their findings,” she said.

Braide was, however, silent on how many deaths or persons were injured in the explosion.

NAN recalls that two explosions occurred at Creek Road, Apapa, at the entrance and inside Folawiyo tank farm, leaving many people injured and some dead.

Meanwhile, the area had been cordoned off to members of the public, including employees of the company, as anti-riot police were stationed around.
