LeBron James was in inspired form while a three-pointer by Chris Bosh a minute to the final buzzer earned Miami Heat a close 98-96 win over San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Centre to level the NBA Finals at one game apiece.

After sitting out the fourth quarter of Game 1 on Thursday night due to a cramped leg, LeBron James scored a game high 35 points as he helped Miami Heat erase wide Spurs leads at a number of points during the encounter in San Antonio.

The first rally came early in the second quarter when LeBron scored 11 points to erase an 11-point deficit for Miami, before hitting eight points in a minute in the third quarter to overturn a six-point deficit for Miami.

LeBron James would rescue Miami from another deficit, scoring 14 points to bring the reigning NBA champions to within a point of their Game 2 hosts at 78-77.

Tony Parker and Tim Duncan then missed four successive free throws for Spurs, with Miami pouncing on the opportunity to take the lead yet again before Bosh hit the three-pointer off a LeBron pass to overturn a late two-point deficit and seal a 98-96 win for Miami.

The win extends Miami rebound streak to 13 straight wins in matches after losing Game 1. It also ended San Antonio’s run of eight successive wins at home.

The NBA Finals Game 3 will hold at the AAA Arena in Miami on Tuesday night, the first of Heat’s two home games.
