Ideato (Imo) – The Students of St. John’s Secondary School, Urualla in Ideato Local Government in Imo on Monday called on the Federal Government to intensify the search for the over 200 missing Chibok school girls.

The students of the Government Secondary School, Chibok in Borno State, were abducted by the boko haram insurgents on April 14.

Dressed in their uniforms, the students marched through their school to Ideato North Council Headquarters at Urualla.

Rev. Fr. Emma Odenigbo, the Rector of the school, said the protest was a demonstration of the feelings of the students on the plight of their colleagues in the hands of their captors.

“As we gather here today, our hearts go out in pains for the over 200 sisters that were kidnapped since over a month now.

“Our sisters and fellow students did nothing except that they went to school in search for Western education.

“As days roll into weeks and weeks roll into month, our agony and pains increase in utter desperation and wonder.

“Where are our sisters and fellow students?” the Rector who spoke on behalf of the students, asked.

Odenigbo urged the government to take the necessary measures to the kidnap menace in the country.

He also called on patriotic Nigerians to join in the struggle to wrestle the nation from the hands of evil men.

The rRctor thanked the international community for their support and solidarity with Nigeria.

Responding, the Transition Committee Chairman, Ideato North, Mrs Josephine Udoji, urged Nigerians to pray fervently for the release of the abducted innocent girls.

She commended the students for making out time to join their counterparts all over the nation in the cry and protest for the release of the girls. (NAN)
