Abuja – A group, Nigeria Kids Pray, has called on children to fast and pray for the safe return of the kidnapped Chibok girls.

This is contained in a statement signed by Pastor Kayode Jacobs, the Coordinator of the group, in Abuja on Saturday

According to the statement, the girls have been too long gone and forced to go through myriad of psychological torture which should not be allowed to continue.

“We have waited enough: we understand it will not be an easy operation by the military to rescue them since force cannot be applied if all must be rescued.

“Since adults have monetised and politicised this challenge for pecuniary gains, we urge all children from age four to 16 to miss their breakfast on Monday, May 26 and Wednesday, May 28.

“This is to enable us pray in one accord for divine Intervention and provoke God to immediate action.

“Psalm 94 should be read during the prayer; Isaiah 49 verses 24-28 should also be employed

“Where it is possible, children in public schools should hold joint prayer by 12 noon when they should break the fast,” it said.

The group, therefore, urged parents to encourage and guide their children in the exercise to rescue the Chibok girls, end Boko Haram and other forms of wickedness in Nigeria.
