
Diaspora Media Limited, the company organising the maiden edition of the Ibadan Children’s Theatre Festival scheduled to hold this May, has shifted it till later in September this year.
The decision to postpone the festival was taken to give room for wider participation of children from more schools seeking the inclusion of their students currently involved in various academic schedules, such as final school and placement examinations.
In line with the objective of the programme, which is hinged on the more the merrier, it was decided that the festival be restructured, refocused and with greater spectacle included for better entertainment.
The organisers have expressed their deep appreciation to stakeholders, among them the managements of private and public schools and other agencies that have indicated interest in the historic event.
The company also specially appreciated corporate brands and eminent citizens in Ibadan who have bought into the event as Festival Ambassadors.
In the statement issued by Diaspora Media and signed by the Festival Director, it assured the good people of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, that the Ibadan Children’s Theatre Festival will return better, bigger, and of greater impact when it finally comes up in the last quarter of 2026.
