Bodex Media has celebrated the 73rd birthday of billionaire businessman and Globacom Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr., describing him as a symbol of enterprise, patriotism and quiet impact whose contributions have shaped Nigeria’s economic and cultural landscape.

In a tribute marking his birthday, the media organisation praised Adenuga’s enduring influence across telecommunications, oil and gas, finance, infrastructure and philanthropy, saying his life represents “what belief in one’s country can achieve.”

Known as The Bull, Adenuga was commended for building businesses that transcend profit and contribute directly to national development.

According to Bodex Media, Adenuga’s investments through Conoil, financial services, and real estate have played strategic roles in strengthening institutions and supporting Nigeria’s growth.

The tribute also highlighted the transformative impact of Globacom, particularly its introduction of per-second billing in 2003, which disrupted the telecommunications sector, expanded access and changed how millions of Nigerians communicated.

Beyond telecoms, Bodex Media noted that Adenuga’s support for Nigerian music, film, and sports helped elevate local talent and foster confidence in homegrown excellence.

“Long before ‘buy Nigerian’ became a slogan, Mike Adenuga was living it,” the tribute stated, adding that his investments gave many young entrepreneurs and creatives the confidence to dream and build.

Bodex Media further applauded Adenuga’s philanthropic interventions through the Mike Adenuga Foundation, citing scholarships, youth empowerment programmes, and infrastructure support that have impacted lives across borders.

It described his approach to giving as discreet but enduring, noting that much of his philanthropy has been carried out away from public attention.

“At 73, Mike Adenuga’s story is no longer just one of corporate success. It is the story of conviction — conviction that Nigeria was worth investing in, and that private success should carry public purpose,” the tribute said.

The organisation said few individuals have shaped business, culture and aspiration in Nigeria the way Adenuga has, describing him as a builder, patriot and icon whose legacy continues to inspire.

As he marks his 73rd birthday, Bodex Media urged young Nigerians empowered by his vision to carry it forward, while celebrating the billionaire for helping Nigeria believe in itself.

“Happy 73rd Birthday, The Bull. Happy Birthday, Spirit of Africa,” the tribute concluded.
