Liberia, Sierra Leone Presidents in Guinea, Sign Peace Deal

On March 16, 2026, the Presidents of Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia met in Guinea and jointly called for peace and unity among their nations.

Recognizing that peace is the foundation of national growth and development, the three leaders demonstrated strong leadership and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a solid bilateral relationship as neighboring countries. They emphasized their collective responsibility to preserve stability and cooperation within the region.

The leaders highlighted the importance of development, love, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence among their nations. They also noted the deep cultural and social ties shared by their citizens, including the prevalence of intermarriages among people from Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia

They concluded by stressing that peace remains the most effective path to sustainable development in any country.
