
The Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration towards attracting credible investments to Benue, declaring the state as being fully prepared to accommodate investors willing to contribute to its economic growth and agricultural transformation.
Governor Alia made this known in Government House Makurdi, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, while receiving a delegation from Nova Global Limited, a Chinese-based investment company.
The delegation was led by the Director of Strategic Promotion at the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, Abubakar Yerima.
Represented by his Deputy, Barr. Sam Ode, mni, the governor said the policies of his administration were deliberately designed to create a business friendly environment capable of attracting both local and foreign investors.
The governor announced plans to constitute a Technical team that will work closely with the investors to advance discussions and finalize agreements, with particular emphasis on developing a complete agricultural value chain from farm production to processing and export.
According to him, the initiative will enable the state to earn foreign exchange, create jobs and improve the living standards of its citizens.
He further revealed that his administration is strongly inclined toward the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, as a sustainable strategy for economic growth and industrial expansion in the state, commending the delegation for choosing Benue as an investment destination, noting that their visit aligns with the core development priorities of his administration.
