Sierra Leone’s Petroleum Regulatory Authority PRA, under the watch of DG Baluwa Koroma, has maintained supply stock, with a slight increase in prices of petroleum products.
Sierra Leone is a non-oil-producing country without a functional refinery.
It takes someone with a thick calibre, such as Baluwa, to think outside the box, to maintain adequate supplies, amid serious tensions ongoing, with blockades in the Middle East, the prime source of supplies.
Baluwa has demonstrated foresight and doggedness in a string of marathon meetings with oil marketers to maintain price equilibrium and supply sustainability
There has been a tremendous increase in the number of petroleum marketers in the country, all maintaining sales pricing formulas and supply sustainability.
The National Petroleum Regulatory Authority is the only authorised statutory body that is solely responsible for announcing petroleum pricing, in consultation with the Ministries of Trade and Finance
