‎Dr Bu Buakie Jabbie, until his death, was ranked among Sierra Leone’s top legal luminaries in constitutional law.
‎Though he was romancing with the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) as its legal retainer, he believed firmly in the supremacy of the law.
‎
‎He was a man of strong convictions. He was strict, with unalloyed loyalty to the rule of law.
‎
‎Even in political battles for the ruling SLPP party, he constantly engaged his fights within the precincts of the law.
‎His legal contemporaries in Africa and beyond, see him as Sierra Leone’s heavyweight in constitutional law and governance.
‎
‎During the tyrannical one party state of late President Siaka Stevens, Bu Buakie Jabbie was severally imprisoned. He never compromised his principles.
‎
‎In 2021, President Bio conferred on him the highest award , Commander of the Order of Rokel COR, in view of his unrepentant stance on the principles of laws in tackling political disputes.
