ECOWAS Heads of States and Government will hold its 68th session today at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Already, all the bloc’s leaders, except the five military governments that pulled out of ECOWAS, are in attendance.
Expectations are high as previously published by this medium.
The incredible increase in the wave of coups and the urgent need to reform the region’s economic, governance, and people-centric policies will be on the front burner of today’s crucial meeting.
Chairman Bio has earlier revealed he is up to the task to accomplish results in this critical moment of ECOWAS
Apart from the sudden increase of coups and the deterioration to stop coups, the economic trade liberalisation scheme and residency protocols need reforms.
Some countries allow free residency and free movement of goods and services, while other countries in the region impose severe costs.
These, among other critical issues, are the tasks before Bio-led ECOWAS leaders today in Abuja
