Youth Summit engages 1,000 participants

.Over 500 benefit from free medical outreach

Gallery Security Services Limited recently concluded a three-day programme organized to celebrate its 13 years of service in maritime, land security, and community safety efforts. The anniversary which was held between 19 and 21 November 2025 at God’s own estate, Agadagba-Obon, Ondo State brought together more than 1,000 young people, senior government officials, security agencies, traditional rulers, and corporate partners of the company.

 The three days’ programme featured Youth in Coastal Defence Summit 2025, a medical humanitarian outreach, and an awards ceremony recognising serving personnel and honouring the families of fallen officers.

Stakeholders described the three-day event as one of the most strategic community-rooted security engagements in the Niger Delta in recent years and a model for local participation in maritime safety.

Youth in Coastal Defence: A Turning Point

For one, the Youth in Coastal Defence summit addressed critical maritime and community safety issues including oil bunkering, sea piracy, kidnapping, drug abuse, trafficking, illegal dredging, environmental crime, and youth recruitment into criminal networks in Nigeria.

Top shots of national security institutions, including the Nigerian Navy, NDLEA, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service, and NSCDC engaged participants at the summit on civic responsibility, national security ethics, and emerging opportunities in the blue economy.

“This summit showed us we are not powerless. We can protect our waterways, not destroy them. For the first time, I see a future where the youth of the creeks are part of the solution,” 19-year-old Ebigbamini Tanro who was a delegate at the summit.

Also, government officials and leaders who spoke at the Summit called for strengthening of local security structure to tackle incidents of insecurity in the country. They also commended the achievements of Gallery Security Services in security of waterways, maritime and land areas.

“Security effectiveness begins with community trust and local intelligence. What Gallery Security Services has achieved in these waterways demonstrates that community-rooted models work,” Chairman of the grand finale, former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko said while calling  for a structural rethink of Nigeria’s security framework.

Also speaking at the Summit, the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, represented by his Deputy Governor, commended the organisation’s impact and reaffirmed government support for expansion and partnership.

Delivering the keynote lecture titled “From the Creeks of Niger Delta to Global Eminence,” former Presidential Amnesty Programme Chairman, Dr. Kingsley Kuku, described Gallery Security Services as a stabilising force in Nigeria’s maritime corridor.

He stated: “Without security in the creeks, there can be no sustainable development in the Niger Delta. Gallery Security Services emerged from the realities of our region not theory, but lived experience. Their work proves that when communities, government and security institutions collaborate, the waterways transform from zones of unrest into engines of peace and economic growth.”

Humanitarian Outreach and Institutional Honour

Day Two of the anniversary celebration featured a free medical outreach, offering diagnosis, medication, screening and counselling to over 500 residents, including elderly citizens, women and children.

During the closing ceremony, the company presented awards to families of fallen officers, alongside commendations for dedicated personnel, reinforcing a culture of service, sacrifice and institutional honour.

A Message of Commitment and the Road Ahead

Speaking at the event, the founder and Chairman, Senior High Chief Bibopere Ajube, outlined the next phase of Gallery Security Services strategy:

 “We have secured waterways, protected livelihoods, and built trust. The next chapter is bigger youth training, deeper inter-agency collaboration, better technology, and a maritime security system that leaves no community behind.”

In alignment with this vision, the organisation announced plans to institutionalise the Youth in Coastal Defence Summit as an annual programme, expand workforce training and coastal youth recruitment, strengthen surveillance technology and operational intelligence and broaden its humanitarian and community support initiatives.

Established in 2011 and licensed by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gallery Security Services Limited provides pipeline protection, maritime patrols, surveillance systems, private guarding, and security consultancy across government, oil and gas, and private sectors.
