For years, many who know Alhaji Kamorudeen Olawale Yusuf, Personal Assistant to the President on Special Duties, have spoken openly about his character, his consistency, and his unwavering commitment to people and purpose. Today, those of us who have long admired his qualities find ourselves vindicated, as reputable institutions across West Africa recognise the same excellence we have always seen in him.
Our praise has never been empty. It comes from firsthand knowledge; knowledge rooted in the memories of his school days, where his leadership, empathy, and creativity already set him apart. Those early signs would later grow into a lifelong passion for service, touching individuals, communities, and institutions across multiple spheres.
Personally, I do call him A Light in Dark Times. Alhaji Kamorudeen has always been known as someone who brings light to the dark days of others. To many around him, he has been a shoulder to lean on, a problem solver, and a steady source of hope. His transition into public office did not change him rather it amplified him.
Since assuming the role of Personal Assistant to the President on Special Duties, he has doubled his efforts, broadening his impact and ensuring that more people smile, more youths find direction, and more communities feel seen. What he once did out of pure personal conviction, he now carries out on a national scale.
Recognition at the 8th West African Leadership Summit and Award. The first of his recent honors came from the West African Leadership and Empowerment Centre, a reputable institution committed to spotlighting transformational leadership across the region. At the 8th West African Leadership Summit and Award, Alhaji Kamorudeen Olawale Yusuf was presented with the West Africa Young Leaders Award of the Year.
This award is a testament to his commitment to leadership, service, and youth empowerment. It celebrates the tangible difference he has made, not through position alone but through consistent action and character.
Double honours from CSR Reporters, shortly afterward, his impact attracted yet another wave of recognition this time from CSR Reporters, an organisation known for documenting and celebrating individuals and institutions championing corporate social responsibility and community development.
Alhaji Kamorudeen received two distinct awards, acknowledging his remarkable contributions in:
Education, for his support, advocacy, and efforts toward better access and opportunities for learners.
Leadership, for his exemplary conduct, influence, and service-driven approach to national development.
These awards, coming from independent bodies with strong reputations, reaffirm what we have long said: his work speaks for itself. I see a brighter future with promise, as more institutions recognise its positive influence. One truth stands clear: Alhaji Kamorudeen Olawale Yusuf stands as a model of dedication in public service. His awards do not merely celebrate past achievements; they spotlight a future filled with even greater promise.
