There are two astonishing facts about Liberia’s Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon of the 55th Legislature.
- Speaker Koon is an academic parliamentarian, an accountant, who had a distinguished stint as a lecturer in accounting at Liberia’s university
- Speaker Koon has stabilised a once destabilised legislature, making him an amiable goal getter, even among opposition legislators.
Representing District 11 of Monrovia, a densely populated zone, Speaker Koon assumed leadership of the 55th legislature when the whole world watched with bated breath, the fire inferno at the Capitol.
With his managerial skills and all-around brilliance, he has succeeded in stabilising a once fractured legislature.
Today, there is total stability in the House, a crucial requirement for inflows of Foreign Direct Investment, FDI, into Liberia. Even local investments grow rapidly when there is stability in the Legislature where laws are enacted to protect investments.
Today, the House is stable, a core requirement for investments into Liberia
