The Youth Alliance for Northern Development (YAND) has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing one of their own, Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji, as his Senior Special Adviser (SSA) on Citizenship and Leadership, describing it as a welcome development.
YAND expressed optimism that Ja’oji shall use his wealth of experience to add more value to President Tinubu’s administration, assuring that his appointment is a blessing that can yield the needed development to northern youths and youths across the country.
YAND threw its full weight behind Ja’oji as he assumed responsibility for the national assignment.

Olorunsola said, “The visit reflects YAND’s continued dedication to empowering young people in Northern Nigeria and beyond through strategic collaboration with government bodies committed to civic education, leadership grooming, and youth development.”
He applauded President Tinubu for creating and strengthening a dedicated office for citizenship and leadership engagement, describing it as a forward-looking move.
According to him, ” the office marks a crucial step toward nurturing a new generation of Nigerians who embody civic duty, ethical leadership, and unity.
“Citizenship education is not just an academic exercise, it is the bedrock on which we can build active, informed Nigerians who understand not only their rights, but their responsibilities—and how leadership at all levels is in service of national development.”
Olorunsola also hailed President Tinubu, ” for selecting an energetic and youth-inclined public servant like Hon. Ja’oji to drive this important national portfolio.”
He noted that Ja’oji’s history in youth mobilisation, community development advocacy, and grassroots engagement highlights his preparedness to deliver effectively.
He further stressed the need for close collaboration between YAND and the SSA’s office, stating that the Youth Alliance for Northern Development is ready to partner with Ja’oji’s team on initiatives such as civic engagement workshops, leadership boot camps, peer mentoring, and community outreach efforts.
According to him, “this is more than symbolism. It is a partnership of purpose. Northern youth are our greatest resource—and with the right education, mentorship, and opportunities, they can drive transformation in their communities and in Nigeria as a whole.”
Responding, Ja’oji expressed gratitude for YAND’s visit and praised the alliance for its proactive commitment to youth-focused national development. He emphasized that the role of his office extends beyond policy formulation to citizen mobilisation, particularly among young Nigerians, around shared values, patriotism, and collective responsibility.
He also disclosed new structural appointments within his office—including two Directors-General and media aides—to enhance the reach and operational capacity of the SSA’s mandate.
