Katsina state government has entered into a partnership with Egyptian hospital, Hospital Co-Egypt, to establish a state-of-the-art Multi-Specialty and Diagnostic Centre in the state.
The state Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, received members of the Egyptian medical team, who paid a farewell visit having concluded a 2-day tour of the proposed sites for the Centre at Katsina Shopping mall.
The delegation, which was in Katsina to discuss with the Government on the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative and inspect the proposed sites for the project, briefed Governor Radda on their inspection of the State Imaging Centre and Katsina Shopping Mall.
They expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved so far.
They commended the administration’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery, particularly the Governor’s determination to establish a world-class multi-specialty Centre which includes a cancer treatment facility and other medical specialties in the state.
During their visit, the Egyptian team also inspected the Katsina City Mall complex and, after thorough assessment, recommended it as the most suitable site for the proposed Multi-specialty Centre.
Governor Radda welcomed the recommendation and reaffirmed his resolve to partner with the medical conglomerate to embark on this laudable project, describing the project as a landmark step in advancing healthcare services for the people of Katsina, which will curb medical tourism overseas and attract patients from neighbouring States and countries in the West African sub-region.
The Egyptian experts assured continued collaboration with the Katsina State Government, praising Governor Radda’s foresight and leadership in driving reforms that will benefit generations to come.
The farewell meeting highlighted the growing partnership between Katsina State and international medical institutions, aimed at delivering world-class healthcare facilities to its citizens and the West African sub-region, at large.
