Olusola Olukemi Akingbade has taken over as the new Comptroller of Ogun II Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, succeeding Comptroller AOB Alade, who retired.

The handing over ceremony was held at the Command’s Headquarters in Abeokuta on September 4, 2025.

Redeployment and Background

Akingbade’s redeployment comes as part of a recent shuffle of Area Controllers and Heads of Units by the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi. Before her new appointment, Akingbade served as Controller in charge of Budget at Customs Headquarters in Abuja.

In his handing-over remark, Alade congratulated Akingbade on her new role and urged officers to support her administration to sustain the Command’s performance tempo.

He also solicited the support of critical stakeholders for the new Comptroller.

The new Comptroller thanked the Comptroller General for considering her for the posting and pledged to discharge her duties diligently, upholding the policy thrust of the CGC. She vowed to sustain the achievements recorded by the Command and ensure a significant revenue increase.

Akingbade emphasised her commitment to teamwork, seeking total cooperation from all stakeholders to succeed. “We must work together and Nigeria must move forward,” she stated.

She promised to facilitate legitimate trades within the Command’s Area of Responsibility and increase revenue collection.

With her experience in budget management, Akingbade is poised to make a significant impact in her new role, building on the achievements of her predecessor and driving the Command’s mandate forward.
