The Katsina Football Academy has sealed the signing of five talented players, on professional contracts, with the Katsina United FC.
Football enthusiasts dubbed the signing as not only historic, but a landmark achievement, recorded by the Katsina Football Academy.
Our Correspondent reports that the event marked the first time in the Academy’s history that five players are moving to the senior team at once, a milestone that reflects the Academy’s growing reputation as a breeding ground for homegrown football talents in Katsina state.
The promoted players are Yusuf Umar (17), Nasir Ahmad (17), Hassan Abubakar (19), Kabir Muhammad Muhammad (17), and Usman Abdullahi (18), all proud indigenes of Katsina state.
The Katsina United’s Sporting Director, Shamsuddeen Ibrahim, described the development as “a dream realised, not only for the players, but for the entire football family in Katsina state.”
Ibrahim further stated that: “This success is part of Katsina State’s broader investment in youth and sports development under the leadership of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, whose administration has been creating pathways for young athletes to thrive and compete at the highest level.
Currently competing in the Nigerian Premier League, Katsina United is expected to benefit greatly from this infusion of youthful energy as the club continues to strengthen its squad for the future.
“The promotion of these five youngsters not only elevates Katsina’s profile in Nigerian football but also reaffirms the state’s long-term commitment to grooming local talent into professional stars.”
