Deputy Senate President, Barau Ibrahim Jubrin, on Wednesday, led the All Progressive Congress (APC) campaign train to Shanono and other parts of Kano North Senatorial District, where by-election and supplementary election are slated to hold on Saturday.
Senator Jubrin, who is representing Kano North Senatorial District, was escorted by the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, the chairman House Committee on Appropriation, Kabiru Abubakar Bichi, who represents Bichi Federal Constituency, among other APC chieftains.
The Saturday by-election in Shanono/Bagwai state constituency will decide who will succeed Halilu Kundila of the APC, who died after a brief illness. It is being held to fill the gap created by the demise of Halilu Kundila of the APC.
Senator Barau urged thousands of APC supporters who gathered at the campaign ground to massively vote for Ahmed Kademu, who is flying the APC flag for the election.
He told the unprecedented crowd that APC is the only option to salvage Kano from the clutches of bad leadership.
Senator Barau accused the ruling New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the state of maladministration, promising that the APC will surely make a difference if the people embrace the party by voting for its candidate in the by-election and other future elections in the constituency and across the state.
In his remarks, Kabiru Abubakar Bichi, appealed to the people to massively vote for the APC candidate during the election to ensure change.
Bichi also promised that plans have been concluded to construct N10 billion rural roads within the constituency.
The APC campaign train moved from Shanono to Tsanyawa, where Senator Jubrin also appealed to the people to support the APC candidate.
Thousands of APC supporters graced the campaign rally, chanting pro-APC slogans with a promise to vote for APC candidates during the election.
