Today, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) banned Fuji Musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshall K1 from flying from any Nigerian Airport for the next six Months.
Michael Achimugu, the NCAA’s director of public affairs and consumer protection, announced the no fly ban on the musician during a press briefing on Thursday August 7, 2025 , a direct response to the musicians action and altercation with Crew of Value Jet and officials at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja on Wednesday which nearly resulted into a major aviation disaster.
According to him ,”the passenger is going to be blacklisted for the next six months flying in Nigeria.” The NCAA had already suspended the pilot of the aircraft involved in the incident for breaching take-off protocol.
Achimugu said NCAA would get to the root of the event and also assured the general public that , “everybody involved in this will be brought to book.So, we will do everything we can to get to the root of it. Everybody who needs to be punished or sanctioned will receive justice.
Aviation rules are global and made for the safety of all, no individual would be exempt from accountability.”
The road to the Six month Ban began for the Fuji Musician when he physically blocked a Valuejet Flight operating from the Abuja Airport from Taking off on Wednesday August 6. He had been disallowed from boarding for allegedly being in possession of a flask containing alcohol.
Airport officials tried to plead with him to leave the tarmac . He refused. And then the pilot revved the engine of the plane and in full throttle the plane began its pre-departure taxing for the runway . And K1 was in its direct path. He ducked the plane wings just before the moment of Impact.
It was a near Tragedy, he was seconds away from being crushed or decapitated by the wings of a an aircraft in full throttle .
