Liberia has commenced a 24/7 marine operations, with the launch of night time navigation operations and new port and marine equipment by the Vice President, Jeremiah Koung at the Free Port of Monrovia on July 3, 2025.
The special occasion was led by the Managing Director of National Port Authority, NPA, Sekou Dukuly, in partnership with APM Terminals, Liberia Maritime Authority and powered by the Ministry of Transport.
With a $4 Million investment by APM Terminals in new port equipment, including marine pilot boat, 3 new stackers and 2 empty container handlers, the new 24/7 operations, is a major port development, as it will robustly expand global trade, port infrastructure and create jobs for the Liberian youths.
This is the first time in post war Liberia, that port will operate a 24 -hour round the clock operations.
NPA MD, Dukuly, in partnership with the private sector, through APM Terminals, has raised the profile of the Port in international trade.
