The rice distribution exercise

As part of his humanitarian gestures, Alhaji Kamorudeen Olawale Yusuf, the Personal Assistant to the President on Special Duties, has distributed no fewer than 10,000 bags of rice across Ogun State.

Supervised by the Ogun State City Boy Movement, under the effective leadership of Dr. Sulaiman Abdul-Lateef Adegboyega (ADLAT), the distribution was further supported by various sub-groups including Kamar’s Vanguard, KAMOSKY Loyalists, and the Asiwaju Support Groups.

The operation was carefully coordinated to ensure that the rice reached targeted beneficiaries across all zones of the state, with special attention given to widows, widowers, students, the less privileged, and other vulnerable members of society.

This humanitarian outreach stands apart from the 5,000 bags of rice earlier shared during the Eid-il-Kabir (Ileya) Festival, where Alhaji Yusuf extended festive support to Muslim faithful across the state in celebration of the sacred holiday.

Speaking during one of the distribution events, Alhaji Yusuf remarked that, “This is more than rice. It is a token of love, solidarity, and shared struggle. These are challenging times, and as leaders, formal or informal, we must rise to meet the needs of our people where it matters most.”

Echoing similar sentiments, Dr. Adeboyega, who led the coordination at the state level, praised Alhaji Yusuf’s generosity, describing the distribution as both symbolic and practical. He noted that in a period when many are struggling with the ripple effects of economic reforms, such acts of kindness help restore hope and foster a spirit of communal support.

“Leadership is about empathy and presence,” Dr. ADLAT stated. “This is not political this is personal. Alhaji Yusuf has shown that he stands by his people not just in words, but in actions.”

The initiative reached several local government areas including Abeokuta North and South, Ifo, Sagamu, Ado-Odo/Ota, Ijebu-Ode, and Yewa communities. Volunteers and coordinators from the allied groups played crucial roles in ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the process.

One elderly widow from Ijebu North who received her share expressed her gratitude: “I didn’t expect anything. When I got the rice, I felt remembered. May Allah bless those who remembered us.”

This latest act of benevolence further cements Alhaji Kamorudeen Olawale Yusuf’s image as a people-centered aide whose concern for the grassroots goes beyond official responsibilities. While he represents the Presidency in his formal capacity, his actions in Ogun State stand as a testament to what compassionate leadership can look like on a personal level.
