*300 African Road Fund Delegates to Attend the Conference

*Big Boost to Liberian Economy

Liberian National Road Fund (NRF) has been successfully voted to host the African Road Maintenance Fund Association (ARMFA) 2025 conference in Liberia from November 17 to 21, 2025.

The decision to award the hosting right to Liberia was reached two days ago, on May 26, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya, during AFMFA’s Executive Committee meeting.

About 300 delegates from respective African Road Fund entities will attend the all-important gathering, where critical issues affecting road infrastructural projects will be discussed and solutions proffered.

Africa is lagging in quality road networks. Where there are good road networks, maintenance is a huge challenge.

The confidence to host the conference in Liberia was primarily, among others, the outcome of a powerful presentation by NRF Manager, Madam Joseta Neufville-Wento, who doubles as chairperson for membership for West Africa ARFMA and also VP of the West Africa focus group.

After the hosting right was announced two days ago in Nairobi, Madam Wento, beaming with smiles and looking elated, remarked: “ It is a proud moment for Liberia. Our country is transitioning into a second-generation road fund model. We’ve made sustainable road infrastructure financing and governance “.

She recalled further that the Liberian government’s ARREST Agenda places a strong premium on road connectivity, though adequate financing remains a major challenge across Africa, due to competing priorities. However, Liberia is making great strides to overcome this challenge.

She concluded: “Hosting the conference is not only elevating Liberia’s visibility in the infrastructural sector, but also presents tangible economic benefits, as it is not just hosting a conference,  but a timely opportunity to attract foreign investment that will lead to economic growth and development.”

Liberia is set to be on the African continent by hosting this crucially important African road maintenance
