The Queen of Afrobeats, Tiwa Savage, is at it again. Her latest set of salacious photos, which she just released, has again set not just tongues wagging and lips synching but also lips smacking.
In those photos she is seen dressed n a white sleeveless shirt on a white bum short, with the words ‘Naija’ boldly printed on it, showing her compact but curvy butt.
She is not just showing the interior of her house but also the exterior of her killer body, her well-shaped behind – small, thick and firm, snugged in that tight bum short. What an uncanny but sexy way to show patriotism and affirm her belief in Nigeria?
In one of the photos, she placed her right hand on her waist line, showing her curves and perhaps saying, ‘look at what I got.” And in another photo, looking straight at the camera, her silent demeanour seems to be saying, “this is me. I got nothing to hide.”
Seeing those photos, her fans, like Oliver Twist, cannot but ask for more. They cannot but wistfully want to be with her and maybe have a feel, a taste of that butt.
But others may not think that way. They may not think there is any big deal about it. And just as the famous title of popular Nigerian playwright, Professor Ola Rotimi, ‘Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again’ suggests, they may be tempted to say “Tiwa has gone mad again.”
Still, arm-chair critics may also ask why is she always exposing her body? Is she the only celebrity? Is she the only female artiste in Nigeria? Why is she always doing too much?
Tiwa has not gone mad again. Neither is she doing too much. She only has the killer instinct, the unapologetic determination to succeed at all cost, no matter whose ox is gored, in a society and entertainment industry where female participation is considered nolle prosequi, an anathema and feminine success is like passing through the eye of a needle.
That is why Tiwa is always in our faces. That is why she is always giving it to us. She always want fans to say something about her. She always wants to be talked about. If she is not killing the beat, she is killing us with her swag, her salacious mode of dressing, her body exhibition.
Many may not like that swag, but that is the only way she can remain relevant. That is the only way she can exercise her freedom in a society where women’s rights are constrained and constantly breached.That is the only she can express herself as an artiste, whose lifestyle is synonymous with freedom.
Tiwa is arguably the only female artiste in Nigeria that is a handful. She is a total package. She gives everything and there is never a dull moment with her. She does not not only entertain with music, she satisfies her fans curiosity and whet their appetite for porn, the rique and the fabulous.
That is why there can only be one Tiwa. That is why she is the Number One African Bad Gurl. That is why she will always kill her fans. And that is why her fans will always ask for more, at least to kindle the fire of that symbiotic relationship.
