*A Major Milestone in Liberia’s Infrastructure Strategy

Liberia’s first Airport Special Economic Zones ASEZ, at the Roberts International Airport RIA, was kick-started, with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation, MOC, between the Liberia Airport Authority LAA and the Liberia Special Economic Zones LSEZ.
By this development, Liberia has successfully joined other African countries in opening up its infrastructure-led development strategies.
The new MD, Liberia Airport Authority, Jero Mend Cole, a seasoned pilot, is upbeat that the new airport city will be beneficial to the country’s industrial takeoff.
President Joseph Boakai, since assuming office over a year ago, has been pushing hard to turn around the economy.
An investment conference was successfully held in Monrovia last year, signalling the start of a new economic era.
President Boakai, in an exclusive interview in August last year to me, revealed that “…. turning around the economy is among the prime focus of the government “.
Liberia is a resource-rich country, with thick forests and peopled with men and women with expressive personalities and high sense of intellect on issues of national and international dimensions.
President Boakai won the October 2023 elections, defeating George Weah.
Since he came to power, Boakai has been on robust reforms in virtually all sectors of the economy
