Police in Kano have foiled a kidnap incident as the Commissioner of police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has handed over the recovered sum of N4,850,000.00 ransom to the kidnap victim.
The kidnapping incident was reported on March 8, 2025.
The victim, a resident of Zakirai Town, Gabasawa Local Government Area, Kano, was kidnapped in his home town, with a ransom demand of N15 million.
Through a technical-based operation and intelligence-driven investigation, five suspects were arrested, and the victim was rescued on March 17, 2025.
The recovered funds were handed over to the owner through the Local Government Chairman of Gabasawa Local Government Area, Hon. Pharm Sagir Usman Abubakar.
The Chairman expressed his appreciation to the Kano Police for their swift response and professionalism in handling the case.
CP Bakori reiterated the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and properties, and ensuring that justice is served.
He urged the public to continue providing valuable information to aid in the fight against crime.
