The Bible teaches that man’s glory is derived from God and is not inherent within himself. In 1 Corinthians 11:7, it says, “For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God…” (KJV).

This verse indicates that man’s glory comes from being created in the image of God.

MAN CAN LOSE HIS GLORY ONLY IF SEPARATED FROM GOD

When Adam and Eve sinned, they lost their original glory and became separated from God.

In Romans 3:23, it says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (NIV).

But through Jesus Christ, believers can be restored to their original glory and even share in God’s glory.

In 2 Corinthians 3:18, it says, “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (NIV).

The Bible does not teach that man has a glory outside of God.

Instead, it emphasizes that man’s glory comes from God and is only fully realized through a relationship with Him.

The Bible teaches that the glory of man can be subverted by various forces such as sin, Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (NIV).

Sin can subvert the glory of man by separating him from God and causing him to lose his original glory.

Pride, Proverbs 16:18 says, “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall” (NIV). Pride can subvert the glory of man by leading him to fall and lose his glory.

The devil can initiate man subverting his own glory by swaying the worship of God to himself or other things, Luke 4:6 says, “And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it” (KJV). The devil seeks to subvert the glory of man by tempting him to worship him instead of God. Note that the devil has no glory.

What he has that looks like glory is an inferior glamour.

Glamour is very inferior to glory spiritually.

Worldly desires, 1 John 2:16-17 says, “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever” (KJV). Worldly desires can subvert the glory of man by leading him away from God and causing him to lose his eternal glory for an inferior version of it, a glamour.

These are just a few examples of how the glory of man can be subverted by various forces. However, the Bible also teaches that through Jesus Christ, believers can be restored to their original glory and even share in God’s glory.

NO ONE CAN BURY THE GLORY OF ANYONE.

Our glory is not ours to lose, but it’s a reflection of God’s glory within us. The enemy may try to tarnish, hide, subvert, or distort our glory, but he cannot ultimately bury or destroy it.

As Psalm 138:8 says, “The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; Your steadfast love, O God, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of Your hands” (ESV).

Our glory is tied to God’s purpose and plans for our lives, and He will fulfill His purpose for us.

Additionally, 1 Corinthians 2:7 says, “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory” (KJV).

Our glory is ordained by God, and it’s hidden in Him.

The enemy may try to attack or hide our glory, but it is ultimately secure in God.

So, we can stand firm in the knowledge that our glory belongs to God and cannot be ultimately buried or destroyed by the enemy.

This is something you have to know, believe and hold on to.

PROVERB FROM THE MOON AND THE SUN

The moon does not have its own inherent glory, but it reflects the glory of the sun when it’s properly positioned. Similarly, as humans, we don’t have our own inherent glory, but we reflect the glory of God when we’re properly positioned in Him.

This analogy highlights the importance of understanding our relationship with God and the source of our glory.

It is not about us having our own glory that can be buried or lost, but about reflecting God’s glory as we abide in Him.

As 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (NIV).

This is a great reminder and call to stay focused on God as the source of our glory and to avoid false teachings that can lead us astray.

We do not need to run to fake prophets or false teachers for glory conversations.

Instead, we should focus on positioning ourselves well with God, working hard to attain our aspirations, and trusting that our glory will be preserved and attained.

As Psalm 75:6-7 says, “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another” (KJV).

Our glory and promotion come from God alone. We should focus on seeking Him, obeying His Word, and working hard to achieve our goals.

When we do, we can trust that our glory will be preserved and attained, and that no one can subvert it.

You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.
