Kano state Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has sponsored the wedding of two male orphans as part of his policies of catering for the needs of the less privileged people in the state.
A Statement by Bintu Nuhu Yakasai, Director of Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Women Affairs, Children and Disable, indicated that Governor Yusuf sponsored the orphans through interventions by the Commissioner of Women Affairs, Amina Abdullahi HOD.
“The Commissioner embodied the nurturing spirit of a mother, guiding the entire process with compassion and dedication,” Bintu added.
She gave the names of the beneficiaries as Nasiru Muhammad and Najib Ibrahim Muhammad, who are of different parental backgrounds but were disadvantaged by the death of their parents at different times.
According to Bintu, “In a heartwarming display of compassion and generosity, the Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Abba Kabir Yusuf, has fully sponsored the wedding of two male orphans.
“The Governor’s kind gesture came after ensuring that all Islamic injunctions and traditional requirements were met, demonstrating his commitment to upholding the values of kindness, charity, and community support.”
The wedding Fatiha of the two orphans took place last Friday, “marking a joyous and memorable occasion for the grooms, their families, and the entire community.”
” This act of kindness by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf underscores his administration’s dedication to the welfare and well-being of vulnerable members of society, particularly orphans and less privileged individuals.
“The governor’s remarkable gesture in sponsoring the wedding of two male orphans has been a display of paternal care, with the governor playing the role of a father,” the statement added.
Bintu further stated that “under the commissioner’s leadership, the Ministry of Women Affairs meticulously oversaw every detail of the wedding, ensuring a seamless and joyous celebration.”
The Commissioner commended the efforts of her staff and a philanthropist, Alhaji Ado Muhammad Yakasai in touching the lives of the orphans as their hard work and commitment made the event a resounding success.
The commissioner also seized the opportunity to offer wise counsel to the newly wedded couples, urging them to cultivate a culture of peace, respect, and patience in their matrimonial homes.
