The Kano state Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has nabbed Nuhu Baba, a 75-year-old drug peddler who has been distributing illicit drugs in commercial quantities across the state.
The Public Relations Officer of NDLEA Kano Command, Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, in a Statement’, Tuesday night, disclosed that the operation led to the recovery of various illicit substances, including Tramadol, Cannabis Sativa, Diazepam, Exol-5, and Rubber Solution.
“Upon investigation, Nuhu Baba confessed to the authorities that he had been engaged in this illicit trade for the past two years as a means of sustaining his livelihood,” the statement added.
The Statement further noted that “this arrest highlights the far-reaching impact of drug trafficking and abuse, affecting individuals across all age groups, including the elderly.”
The Statement also reiterated NDLEA’s commitment towards tackling drug-related crimes.
NDLEA appealed for increased community participation in the fight against substance abuse across the state.
