Kano State Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Engr. Muhammad Diggol has tendered his resignation letter after being redeployed from the Ministry of Transportation.

Our Correspondent gathered that Diggol did not state any reason for backing out from Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s cabinet.

Though efforts made to get his reasons for dropping out of the Kano State Executive Council proved abortive, sources close to him confirmed that his latest decision was, “purely political.”

A source who spoke to our Correspondent on condition of anonymity maintained that Diggol who was recently fingered as part of the group  frowning at Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso’s, “overbearing influence on Governor Yusuf’s government felt spat for being redeployed from the juicy Transportation Ministry to the Ministry of Project Monitoring and Evaluation.”

The source added: ” I  can also confirm to you that another major reason he left is to allow peace reign, and also protect his integrity and dignity as chances were ripe that he could have been sacked.”

However, Governor Yusuf has accepted the resignation of Diggol, the pioneer Managing Director of Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA).

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Mr Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Sunday.

Engr. Muhammad Diggol was initially appointed as Commissioner for Transportation at the inception of Governor Yusuf’s administration in 2023.

He was later reassigned to the Ministry of Project Monitoring and Evaluation, where he served until his resignation today.

Governor Yusuf expressed his gratitude to Engr. Diggol for his selfless service, unwavering commitment, dedication, and exemplary work ethic during his tenure as a member of the State Executive Council.

According to the statement, the Governor also extended his best wishes to Engr. Diggol in his future endeavours.
