I keep wondering the basis of the thinly veiled excitement of folks on this side of the divide about Donald Trump’s election victory! Many choose to view the whole Trump phenomenon, yes, phenomenon, with the googles of religion. Some reference the extreme liberal orientation of mainstream Democratic Party, and what the future portends in the hands of the liberal politicians, who are wont to stretch the idea of ‘freedom’ to its limits. They see Trump as standing for contrary values, the very epitome of cultural sanity. Well, it is my considered opinion that all of these people are mistaken, grossly mistaken!

Trump is the textbook definition of demagoguery! As Social Scientists, we must cut through the facade, and reach the unstated. Just four years ago, or so, the man practically confessed he never read the bible; and wondered why people wrote “TWO” Corinthians if what they wanted pronounced was “2nd” Corinthians! He made the faux pas at an event, where he was forming familiarity with the Bible. This is the man some choose to drag in the garb of the Christian faith!

Truth is, Trump does not believe in ANYTHING! The guy is a complete demagogue. He gauged what his white supremacist audience, and the so-called evangelicals, wanted to hear, and he gave it to them. Not being as sophisticated as the French electorate that has consistently warded off the nationalists’ (racist) bid for power in their country, the US electorate lapped all that Trump was saying up.

As well, yours sincerely, like many others, of course, had noted months ago, publicly, that the extremist folks directing Joe Biden’s foreign policy on Gaza – Anthony Blinken, Jake Sullivan and Lloyd Austin – were going to damage the President’s re-election chances, as their morbid endorsement of all the atrocities underway in Gaza was going to practically put off those who traditionally had been enthusiastic supporters of the Democratic Party. We also hinted that a younger, white male would be the most appropriate replacement for Biden. Such would have resonated with the closest white supremacists (racists) in the US, who would have been quite comfortable voting for just any white male other than the morally challenged Trump. Unfortunately, the Party didn’t address these REALIST currents well enough. They became its undoing!

Let’s just watch President Trump exercise the office, again, and we’ll return to this discussion later. But, I am persuaded that not just American democracy, but indeed the weaker segments of the global system – Trump’s sh*tholes – are in trouble! Of course, for those who thought, albeit wrongly, that Ukraine had a reason to fight to finish, the end of the war is in sight – in the exact same manner Vladimir Putin wants it, now that his friend (protege?) is back in office. Palestine can as well be obliterated as far as Trump is concerned; and we are certain to see him move fearfully in the direction of endorsing everything, or more, that Bibi Netanyahu and the  Zionists want over the occupied territories.

It’s certainly going to be a very busy and challenging four years (only four?) for the world in the hands of DJ Trump. Welcome to Trump’s World, folks!
