Ademola Bello was among the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who have been declared winners of all contested positions in the just concluded Local Government Elections in Kogi State. He won the chairmanship of MopAmuro LGA.

The outcome of the election was declared at night on Saturday by chairman of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission, KSIEC, Mamman Nda Eri, in the  premises of the state election umpire.

The SIEC office was barricaded and under heavy security surveillance.

However, contrary to the usual practice where detailed statistics of number of votes cast and what each party recorded are disclosed, the chairman only announced the names of the winners and their party without their scores or how many people elected them.

He said that the results have been declared by each electoral officer on the field, noting that he was only confirming the field results. He read the names from a prepared list.

Eri thanked the people of the state for participating in the election, observers, the security agencies, and staff of the commission for their roles in ensuring a peaceful election.
