Kano state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Salman Dogo Garba, has presented cheques worth of N83,102,207:38 to 45 beneficiaries who are next-of-kin and relatives of officers and men of the Command who lost their lives and those who sustained high degrees of injuries in the course of their duty.
The lifeline gesture was part of the Inspector-General of Police Life Assurance/Group Personal Accident, and Family Welfare Scheme.
The beneficiaries that were presented with the cheques are the next-of-kin of deceased police officers and officers who are victims of accidents.
In his remark while handing over the cheques, CP Dogo stated that: “This gesture is in line with Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM welfare scheme, design to support families of deceased officers who paid the supreme price and those who have been injured in the line of duty.
” The CP further urged the beneficiaries to utilize this support judiciously, ensuring it brings relief and comfort during these difficult times. He finally prayed for the repose of the departed souls and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.”
The beneficiaries all expressed joy for the kind gesture and thanked the Inspector-General of Police for the support.
They all promised to make good use of the money as it came in a time of need.
