Chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Engr. Buba Galadima has dismissed media reports that the 2023 presidential candidate of the party, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso accepted to become the running-mate to the Labour Party (LP) presidenrial candidate, Dr. Peter Obi.
Galadima, political associate to Kwankwaso, regretted that a section of the media misinterpreted Kwankwaso’s position on the issue.
According to him, Kwankwaso did not and will not consider deputizing Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election.
He maintained that the NNPP presidential candidate is well prepared to occupy Aso Rock in 2027, insisting part Kwankwaso has both the political and intellectual pedigree to fix Nigeria if elected as president.
Galadima noted that Kwankwaso in his interview enumerated his political and intellectual profile which gives him an edge over politicians like Obi, a former Anambra state Governor.
He rather advised Peter Obi to consider joining the Kwankwasiyya Movement to rescue Nigeria from the shackles of bad leadership.
Galadima, in an interview with journalists maintained that the NNPP presidential flagbearer, “is far ahead of the former Anambra state Governor in everything. So, saying that Kwankwaso will serve as Obi’s running mate in next three years is like relegating him to the background as such speculation does not hold water.”
He added that, “to those that have listened and clearly understood the interview, what Senator Kwankwaso said was like humiliating Peter Obi not the opposite.”
