The new Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police in charge of Zone 1, Ari Mohammad Ali, has charged officers and men of the Zone  to always be on the alert and carry out their duties with the spirit of patriotism in the face of security challenges.

AIG  Ari  spoke during a  familiarization visit to the Bompai headquarters of Kano state Police Command.

Zone 1 comprises Kano, Jigawa and Katsina states.

The police boss harped on the need for officers and men of the Zone to embrace professionalism, dedication, patriotism and hardwork,  in the course of their duties.

AIG Ari also spoke about the need to adopt technology-based policing so as to keep pace with international best standards.

He furtther  urged officers and men in the Zone to  always dress decently to dignify  the  prestige of the Nigeria Police Force.

AIG Ari also warned officers and men in the Zone to shun corruptiom and uphold honesty, sincerity and dignity.

” Remain neutral,do not be partisan. Your job is to provide security and not to partake in any camp or groups,” he added.

He further urged the  management team of Kano police command to ensure synergy with other security agencies working in the state to ensure absolute security.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Salman Dogo Garba, informed AIG Ari that he has adopted and implemented various security strategies since assumption of  duty.

” These efforts have led to the arrest of suspected armed robbers, other criminal elements and recovery of stolen items,” he added.

He, however, regretted that, “despite the successes recorded,  the Command faces al ot of  challenges which include shortage of vehicles for patrols, manpower shortage, among others.”
