At the just concluded Forum for China/ Africa Cooperation (FOCAC)meeting in China, President Joseph Boakai successfully struck deals with Chinese companies for various developmental projects. They are in tandem with his economic reforms, as enunciated in his campaign “ rescue” program.
On the sidelines of FOCAC, he signed a $3 billion memorandum of commitment MOC for construction of refinery in Buchanan and other energy projects.
He also signed a $100 million project for roads and other multilayered infrastructural projects, geared toward improving the lives of the Liberian people.
There is an already signed MOU with a Chinese company, in partnership with ECOWAS refinery, and the Liberian government, under President Madam Sirleaf.
Reacting to the latest signed agreement, the CEO of ECOWAS refinery in Liberia, Chief Tony Chinyere, congratulated the new deal at Buchanan, calling for compensation on his deal.
President Boakai is passionate about his people’s welfare and development.
In an exclusive interview with TheNEWS Magazine in Monrovia, President Boakai is deeply concerned about people and humanity, stating:
“Whatever it takes to improve my people from decades of underdevelopment, I’ll do it, even if it means riding a wheelbarrow to my office at the mansion.“
