*Police still on manhunt for kidnappers

About two weeks after Aribibia John Fubara, the Rivers State Director of the Board of Internal Revenue was abducted by gunmen at Okrika waterfront in Port Harcourt, his whereabouts remain unknown.
The Rivers State Police Command had announced that it had deployed officers from the Tactical teams and Anti-Kidnapping departments of the Rivers State Police Command have commence a manhunt for the kidnappers.
Recall that various accounts claimed gunmen numbering about six, driving on a Speedboat, on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at about 8:20 pm, came through Okrika Waterfront near Marine Base, area of Port Harcourt and shot sporadically into the air to scare people.
After carefully identifying their target, and they brazenly whisked the victim into the boat and zoomed off to an unknown destination.
Sketchy information identified the victim simply identified as Aribibia John Fubara, also a Knight of Saint Christopher, in the Anglican Communion.
Since the victim was abducted, his Captors, have not established contacts with family members. The younger brother, Emmanuel Fubara, who confirmed the kidnapped incident said the matter has been officially reported to the Police.
Updating on the kidnap, the Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said: “The command is still on manhunt to ensure that the victim is released unhurt. A manhunt has been launched to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to book.”Iringe-Koko said.
