A Senior Special Assistant to the Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Samson Omoarebokhae, has been reportedly shot dead by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

It was gathered that the victim was killed on 31 August 2024, around Ozalla, in Owan West Local Government Area of the  State.

He was travelling when he met his untimely death.

Meanwhile, the Speaker, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, has commiserated with the bereaved family.

The Special Adviser on Media to the Speaker, Mrs. Ivy Adodo-Ebojele, disclosed in a statement that upon receiving the sad news, Agbebaku immediately dispatched a delegation on a condolence visit to the family of the slain SSA.

Agbebaku who described the death of his aide as painful, assured the bereaved family that he would do everything within his power to ensure that his killers are arrested and made to face the wrath of the law.

“Though it is a painful situation, we pray God in His infinite power to give the family a reason to smile again.

“We pray God to repose the soul of the deceased and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss”, he said.
