Randy UNIBEN lecturer to be in the soup soon

Authorities of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), have set up a committee to investigate allegations of sexual harassment against a Professor (name withheld) in the Faculty of Arts of the institution.

The Secretary of the investigation committee, Barr.  B. D. Jonathan disclosed this in a circular issued and made available to journalists in Benin on Saturday.

According to the circular, all staff and students of the University with relevant information or had experienced any incident related to the allegation are urged to come forward and share with it investigation committee.

“The information will assist the Committee in ensuring a thorough and fair investigation.

“Be rest assured that your identity will be protected, and all information will be treated with utmost confidentiality,” the circular stated in part.

It was gathered that the institution decided a graduate of the University took to social media and called out the lecturer.

She alleged that she suffered untold sexual harassment from the said professor during her undergraduate studies.
