Liberian President Joseph Boakai will, today, declare open the much-awaited Liberia Investment Conference 2024, with a keynote address. The highly anticipated landmark conference is solely aimed at attracting Foreign Direct Investment FDI, thereby fostering the rapid economic growth the country desperately needs.

An initiative of President Boakai-led Unity Party, the event, organised by Noial African Venture, in partnership with National Investment Commission NIC, with the theme: “ Winds of Change, Leveraging Private Sector Investments to Spur Growth and Development”, is held at the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf Ministerial Complex, EJS, from 6 to 8 August 2024.

The conference also aims to showcase Liberia’s immense economic potential, rich with multi-faceted subsoil resources and people with men and women of great intellects.

President Boakai’s keynote speech focuses on the government’s commitment to building a vibrant economy, and creating jobs for the teeming youths, by leveraging on private sector investments to support his “ARREST” agenda toward national development, as enshrined in his inaugural speech in January 2024.

The all-important and much-expected investment conference is designed by President Boakai’s economic and policy think tank, led by his Senior Advisor, Madam Mac Della Cooper.

The multi-sectoral and inter-ministerial event is also designed to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders, including senior government officials, local and international investors, Liberian diasporas and development partners.

Information Minister, Jerolinmek Matthew Piah, had earlier revealed that “ the conference will feature a robust program, including plenary sessions, sector-specific discussions, panel debates and numerous networking”

The conference is also designed to serve as a veritable platform for meaningful dialogue among stakeholders, including investors, policymakers and captains of industries, to ultimately pave the way for concrete and successful investment opportunities, forge strategic partnerships and ultimately drive Liberia’s economic growth.

Critical sectors like Agriculture, Infrastructure, Tourism and Hospitality, Mining, Energy, ICT, Banking and Finance, among others, will be key areas for potential investments.

The conference is highly significant to the Liberian economy and its people.
