The court also restrained Officials of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nigeria, its National Chairman, Financial Secretary, Organizing Secretary, and any of their agents from holding congress until the hearing of the suit before the court.

Among the Claimants include: Hon. Prince Solomon Abel Eke, former Obio-Akpor local government area, Hon. David Chinedu Omereri, sodoye Tobin, Goddy Manfred Peplee, Akijah Precious Chigozirim, Hon. Orlosama Peter Amachree, Godfriday Nweke, Alfred Letam, Hon. Wechie Ndubisi Raymond, Mrs. Erebie Michael, and Hon. Ogenma Idalinimulu.

In Court documents slighted by Our Correspondent, the Defendants/Respondents are the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the National Chairman PDP, the National Financial Secretary PDP, and the National Organising Secretary PDP.

The Court has therefore barred the PDP Congress in Rivers State from being suspended or rescheduled until further court determination. The court specifically bars the party from holding the congress on the scheduled date or any other date pending the resolution of the motion already filed.

The Court order also includes: the PDP  taking any decisions or issuing directives related to the congress or actions affecting the tenure of state, local government, and ward executive officers of the PDP in Rivers State.

The matter was adjourned to July 19, 2024, for the determination of the motion on notice already filed.

Our Correspondent reports that loyalists of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory had been accused of hijacking all the positions of Caretaker Committees leadership of the party excluding those loyal to Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
