The 5th EFCC prosecution witness  Mrs Ifeoma Ogbonnaya , a graduate of Archeology and Tourism who is also a manager at Zenith bank under cross examination yesterday by Godwin Emefiele’s lawyer Olalekan Ojo(SAN) ;told the court that neither Godwin Emefiele nor his wife Margret were beneficiary of the inflow  of money into the accounts of three companies mention before the court.

Mrs Ogbonna ,also informed the court that the bank did not, obtain the documents, board resolution or any document portraying the Ex-CBN boss and his wife  as  beneficial owner of the accounts of the companies, Limelight, Comec , and Answin Limited. She confirmed that none of them was named in the account opening mandate to sign banking instructions on the accounts.  She responded that one Madam Augustina is the signatory and not Mrs Emefiele. The  Customer instructions to honour transactions on any of the accounts did not emanated from them as the instruction were always in writing.

She was asked to confirm that the instructions the banks must honour are those given by the account holders and none other.  She was given  account opening package of Limelight limited  to confirm the signatories of the company. She confirmed that the signatories are Stephen Ogwa and Patricia Esan, while the shareholders of Limelight Limited were  Omoile Augustina Onuwa and Oriekose Augustina and Ibrahim Taofeek as the document from CAC  confirmed. Godwin, his wife Mrs Emefiele are not  Shareholders neither are they directors of the companies.      She reiterated  that she never attended any board or Management meetings of these companies, apart from managing them

Having looked through the account opening package, she confirm  that there was no document that shows the names of Margaret Emefiele and Godwin Emefiele or link them to the companies, because they were not involved in any authorisation of the transactions. All the money paid into the accounts of the companies by the CBN were not authorized by Godwin Emefiele. She confirm this after going through the narration of the payments which has been tendered before the court.
