The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Ojala 11 has married a new wife, Mariam Anako.

The new wife was welcomed to his palace on Tuesday night after brief rites were performed at the entrance to the palace of the monarch in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

This was revealed in a video uploaded by Moses Olafare, the Director of Media and Publicity to the Ooni of Ife.

The new queen was thereafter led into the inner court of the palace to meet her husband and other guests waiting to receive her.

Oba Ogunwusi was assisted by chiefs and close allies in welcoming the new wife into the palace. Also present at the ceremony were the Ooni’s elder brother, Sooko Adegboyega and the monarch’s other siblings.

During the ceremony, Anako’s relations from Ebiraland in Kogi State and Ilorin in Kwara Stare were also present, each taking turn to greet the Ooni.

The new wife is coming into the palace about 10 months after Naomi Silekunola, the last wife of the monarch left him.

Naomi announced separation from the monarch on Thursday 23 December, 2021, thus ending a marriage that produced a son, Tadenikawo. The marriage lasted about three years.
