Gasvine Properties, Nigeria’s leading indigenous real estate company, has introduced the young landlord scheme tagged “Smart Landlord”. It is designed to empower children to acquire properties at the early stage of their lives and secure their future. ESV Dr Oziele Godwin the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Property Company informed the press at a recent media briefing in Lagos.
In his words: “We reasoned that most parents take their children’s education as a primary priority. Thus, they are ready to spend any amount to make their kids learned and competitive.” And quality education is very expensive… We came to a realistic conclusion that if parents go the extra mile to provide quality education for their kids, they can make a beautiful balance by acquiring properties for them too. The property would serve as an investment for their children which can be used for numerous purposes later.
We are all aware that lands appreciate at an astronomical rate, so it serves as a worthwhile investment for the younger owner and the family as a whole. For instance, a plot of land acquired at N500,000 will be worth N20 million in 10 years, if it appreciates at only 0.5 per cent. That is what we refer to as a worthwhile investment. The land can be sold and invested in the education of the child or used for whatever investment purpose if the family so desires.”
He further explained that the investment would solve unemployment problems. There will be no need to look for jobs, the appreciated property can be sold and the proceeds used to set up any business of their choice, it can even be used to secure loans.
He continued: “We implore parents to take advantage of this unique opportunity to secure a guaranteed future for their lovely children and remove unnecessary financial stress as their kids grow. All our estates across the country are open to this scheme. The modus operandi is to buy the plot in the name of their children, while they serve as the next of kin.
The scheme accommodates buying smaller plot sizes and paying in instalments for a longer period. Our estates are in central choice locations, we are presently selling at affordable prices, and the same plot will soon become very expensive. This we believe is the reason parents should take advantage of the scheme and secure a guaranteed future for their children.
Parents should add buying choice properties and plots as part of the gifts they use in expressing their love for their kids in addition to the expensive schools, holidaying abroad, and other very expensive gifts they get for them. It is high time they included this all-important gift to the list of their gifts and be rest assured of a secured future he advised.
We are using this avenue to call on parents to take advantage of the flexible payment of this scheme and turn their children into smart landlords. Interestingly as earlier explained, at the rate of capital value appreciation of our estates, your child who is in primary school today will at graduation from the university, be worth several millions.
The Young Landlord Scheme is an investment for every caring parent for their loving children, he concluded
