High Chief in Ogun doles out cars, empowerment materials to mark birthday

High Chief Olamilekan Olakunle, the Asiwaju of Orile Imo community in Ogun State has doled out car gifts to local chiefs popularly known as Baales under his community to celebrate his 55th birthday.
He also donated a mosque to the community in addition to empowerment programme for women and youth in the community.
Chief Olamilekan who is also the Grand patron of Young Media Practitioners of Nigeria (YOMPON), empowered the youths and women the community with sewing machines, hair dryers and financial support of  N50,000 each to support their various businesses during the birthday celebration which coincidenced with the grand opening of a hotel he built in the area.
Speaking to journalists at the event, Asiwaju said he is elated because God has blessed him enough, and there is no way he could appreciate God’s blessings than to give back to his community which he rules over.
“I am elated. What God has done for me, I cannot explain it. God has been very good to me. He brought me from nobody to somebody and that’s why I am celebrating to show gratitude to Him.
“I want to advise individuals to also emulate this by giving back to their society. If you have all it takes, contribute to the development of your society and your people will be happy with you.
One of the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme, Mrs Ariowoola Folake lauded the initiative, saying that the kind gesture will go a long way to uplift her business and ultimately help her to cater for her family.
“I want to appreciate your sacrifices and help at this time. This money will be plunged back into my business and I can assure you that those under me will feel the impact of the generosity”, she added.
Asiwaju Olamilekan is a recipient of many awards. Some of the award includes the Patrons of Young Media Practitioners Of Nigeria (YOMPON), South-West Youth Assembly Of Nigeria, (SYAN), amongst others.
